Week 6

My fellow psychologists,

This week has been the hardest yet... From this point in time, progress was made without any hindrance. But this week with a lack of planning, things fell apart fast. I didn't bring any organic bars to school with me, and I had to eat SOMETHING at school before my workout class.. so I succumbed to eating a tuna sandwich :/ Yes, a tuna sandwich was my demise. This started somewhat of a snowball effect where I went home and ate a box of chewy bars. This in turn gave me a HUGE positive punishment. It probably added up to a marathon of running, but I settled with five miles. I feel I can get back on track though! At least my running made me somehwat regret binging for another week...

  1. Hey Josh!
Although you did have a tuna sandwich I don't blame you because you had to eat something! Then you had some positive punishment by running five miles, wow I don't think I can do that yet but good job! Overall, you didn't do so bad this week, you did pretty good and keep up the good work!

  2. Hi Josh!
Even though you had a tuna sandwich, its not like its a horrible thing to eat! Its fish, and brain food! :] it could have been alot worse, especially with things like a Carl's Jr. right on campus! ha ha at least you avoided that! Glad you actually stuck with the punishment, because most people( including myself) just ignored it and went on my merry way) Everyone has a slip up and yours was just for a day, and you went right back to being on track. Just stick to it and wish you the best!

  3. Ah the snowball effect. Yes, I thought "one day of rest won't do anything bad" and the snowball effect of not working out the whole week. Well your reasoning is different, because you HAVE to eat something! Like what Phylicia said, at least you didn't eat anything from Carl's Jr.! Good luck! and also with your music test... i'll see you in class... *cries*

  4. Hey Josh,
The good part about this is that you know you can get back on track. When we get those build-ups from bad habit binging, it's often hard to regain perspective on the bigger picture. I feel that I have had little or no improvement throughout this experiment, but I do feel more confident that I can change my behavior.

  6. Hey Josh...a tuna sandwich, huh? Don't you hate that, when one little thing just leads to another? But like Brian said, now you know you can get back on track and that you will actually enforce the punishment on yourself. That should boost your confidence and help you feel stronger for the next week. You know now what it feels like to slip, so maybe that will motivate you to not slip again. Good luck!
